FRONT DESK

1. Engage in active listening with members and program participants to build relationships, understand member's goals and interests, and ensure that each member or guest has a positive experience.
2. Conducts tours for potential members.
3. Enters member information into computer with accuracy.
4. Helps to maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
5. Understand and enforce all applicable YMCA policies.
6. Operate membership software and all necessary office equipment.
7. Assist in the sale of YMCA programs, services and product to members, guests, and participants.
8. Assist in handling and resolving member, guest and participant concerns and inform appropriate team member or manager of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
9. Responsible for maintaining towels at Member Services.
10. Follow all YMCA policy and procedures including Child Abuse Prevention.
11. Any other duties as assigned by the Membership Service Coordinator or Membership Director.

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. One to two years related experience preferred.
3. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications must be completed within 60 days of hire (YMCA provided).
4. Must be able to work in a high-paced environment and be efficient at multitasking.
5. Requires the ability to recognize and handle a variety of situations as they arise. 
6. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, volunteers, YMCA members, the general public, and people of diverse backgrounds is essential.
7. Strong communication, customer service and problem solving skills
8. Demonstrated interpersonal communication and problem solving skills.
9. Willingness to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
10. Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
11. Never been convicted of any child abuse including sexual abuse
