The Associate Director of Aquatics will supervise the development and implementation of the aquatic programs of the Center. This position is primarily responsible for working with our staff and our members and program participants on the front line (approximately 50% of time is spent in frontline duties and 50% in administrative duties). The position will include the day-to-day operations of the department; program development and promotion, implementation and evaluation, staff scheduling, training and supervision, monitoring safety practices and adherence to standards and financial operation in accordance with Center and Association goals, objectives and policies.

- This position requires a High School Diploma or GED with at least 2 years of experience and proven success in a leadership role within aquatics that includes supervision and 2 years of experience teaching swim lessons to all age groups preferred.
- This person needs to have a good overall picture of YMCA philosophy and values and holds current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding.
- Knowledge of chemicals (according to YMCA and OSHA guidelines) associated with pool maintenance. This includes having YMCA of the USA Certified Pool Operator training.
- Ability to work in a variety of areas, specifically those often subject to dampness and extreme heat.
- Must obtain CPR, First Aid, YMCA Lifeguard and YSLI certifications and instruct others in such courses.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Salary : $43,888 - $45,000
