Position Summary:
The Family Enrichment Coordinator fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment for families by designing and delivering programs that support connection, growth, and shared experiences. This role plays a key part in strengthening family engagement and advancing the YMCA’s mission of nurturing the potential of every family member through meaningful programming and community support.
Essential Functions:
- Plan, coordinate, and implement family-focused programs and events, including family nights, parent-child activities, birthday parties, aquatics, sports, seasonal celebrations, and wellness initiatives.
- Engage and build relationships with families, ensuring a welcoming environment where all feel seen, respected, and valued.
- Collaborate across departments (youth development, wellness, aquatics) to integrate family engagement into YMCA programs and services.
- Schedule and coordinate part-time and program staff to support delivery of family programs and ensure adequate coverage for all planned activities.
- Support and guide staff delivering programs, ensuring alignment with program goals and YMCA values.
- Gather and respond to feedback to continuously improve the quality, inclusivity, and accessibility of family programs.
- Support membership retention and satisfaction by promoting programs that deepen family connection to the YMCA.
- Ensure programs align with YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in child development, family studies, recreation, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in program coordination, family services, or community engagement.
- Experience with staff or volunteer scheduling preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to connect with diverse populations and create inclusive program experiences.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
- Requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends for family events and programs.
- Ability to move program materials (up to 25 lbs) and set up event spaces.
