What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Fun Assistant Site Supervisor position at York County?
Assists in coordination and implementation of a six-week recreation program for school-age children (kindergarten through 8th grade).
Assists in supervising all direct recreation leaders and support staff along with administers recreational activities at assigned site.
Organizes recreational programs, field trips, events and arts & crafts.
Assists in oversight of the promotion of recreational activities at a specific site and maintains a safe learning environment.
May direct the support staff as needed in absence of Site Supervisor.Must be 18 years of age or older with at least 1 year of experience managing children in a professional setting (teaching, childcare, summer camps etc).
CPR/AED/First Aid certification and MAT Certification, or ability to attain one.
Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
CPR/AED/First Aid Training offered to all supervisors.
Must be able to work a revised schedule when needed, and maintain consistent attendance throughout the six week program.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must exercise considerable tact and courtesy when interacting with program participants, parents and support staff.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are those for Medium Work.
