Position Summary
Job Description:
The Adjunct Biology Professor will teach Introductory Molecular Biology lecture and lab for undergraduate students this coming fall of 2026. The We are seeking an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about student learning and creating an engaging, supportive classroom and laboratory environment. The instructor will provide high-quality instruction that fosters scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and the development of practical laboratory skills. Other responsibilities include:- Instruct and supervise students in biology lecture and/or lab sessions according to established course objectives and departmental standards.
- Deliver introductory molecular biology course instruction, including syllabi, lecture materials, assignments, and assessments. The department maintains a collaborative teaching environment and provides shared course materials and mentoring to support instructional success.
- Emphasize proper laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and the scientific method.
- Assess student lab performance through lab assignments, practical exams, and participation.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
- Collaborate with full-time faculty to ensure consistency and alignment of lab content with lecture courses.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
- Maintain compliance with all institutional, departmental, and safety policies.
- Available teaching assignments for fall 2026 are listed below. Multiple sections of the course are available and applicants may be considered to teach one or more. Applicants are encouraged to indicate which lecture and/or laboratory times they are available to teach.
- Lecture: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 12:00-12:50pm
- Labs (2 sections): Wednesday, 8:00-10:45am and Friday 2:00-4:45pm
Provide effective and engaging lecture and/or laboratory instruction that supports student learning of fundamental biological concepts and helps students develop essential scientific reasoning skills.Essential Functions

Experience and Education Required
- Master’s degree or higher in Biology or a closely related field.
- Experience teaching or assisting in college-level biology labs preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory techniques, safety, and biological principles.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
