About the Role
The Nursing Director for Cardiovascular Services is responsible for strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across the Cardiovascular Service Line, including the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care and oversees program development, financial management, staff performance, and regulatory compliance.
Department Overview
The Cardiovascular Services Department includes a two-bay Cardiac Cath Lab performing approximately 1,200 cardiology and vascular procedures annually, supported by 24/7 STEMI coverage. Services include:
Catheter-based interventions
Comprehensive vascular care
Peripheral vascular procedures
Vein care and wound care
Collaborative multidisciplinary care model
Key Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of the Cardiovascular Service Line, ensuring high-quality patient care
Develop and implement strategic plans across ambulatory, acute, post-acute, and community care settings
Drive continuous improvement in patient outcomes, quality, efficiency, and satisfaction
Design and evaluate new clinical programs and innovations
Ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and safety standards
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing teams, hospital leadership, and system executives
Recruit, mentor, and develop perioperative nursing staff
Oversee staff education, competency, and compliance with clinical and patient safety standards
Support provider and staff engagement, retention, and workforce planning
Manage financial performance, resource utilization, and operational budgets
Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, accountability, and patient-centered care
Maintain regular attendance and fulfill other assigned responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Progressive leadership experience in Cardiovascular Services, Cath Lab, or Perioperative Nursing
Experience managing multidisciplinary clinical teams
Strong understanding of cardiovascular procedures, workflows, and safety standards
Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives and clinical quality improvement
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
