Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nursing Director of Cardiovascular Services to lead all strategic, clinical, and operational aspects of a growing cardiovascular service line. This role oversees a comprehensive heart and vascular program supported by a two-bay Cardiac Catheterization Lab performing approximately 1200 cardiology and vascular procedures annually, including 24/7 STEMI coverage. The service line includes catheter-based interventions, vascular care, peripheral interventions, and wound/vein care.
The ideal candidate will be a transformational nursing leader with deep experience in cardiovascular services and a passion for driving quality, patient satisfaction, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead all operations of the Cardiovascular Service Line across ambulatory, acute, post-acute, and community care.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to improve clinical performance and service growth.
- Design and evaluate innovative programs that enhance quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes.
Clinical and Operational Excellence
- Drive continuous improvement in outcomes, cost of care, workflow efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory standards, and hospital quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with physicians, APPs, quality leadership, and hospital executives to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Provide oversight for staff education, competencies, and adherence to clinical and safety standards.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, mentor, and develop cardiovascular and perioperative nursing staff.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, communication, and professional growth.
- Support provider and staff engagement, retention, and performance.
Financial and Program Management
- Ensure financial performance, budget oversight, and resource allocation for the service line.
- Support evaluation of growth opportunities and program expansion.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain reliable attendance and complete additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current West Virginia RN license or eligibility for WV licensure
- 5 to 7 years of progressive leadership experience in cardiovascular services
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, including collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia providers
- BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain within specified timeframe)

- Experience with strategic planning in a hospital or service line environment
- Experience overseeing financial performance of a clinical unit or service line
- Proven success in staff recruitment, retention, and engagement
- Background in improving care outcomes, cost efficiency, and patient experience
Pay: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
