Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Serve as the accountable leader for all aspects of the Cardiovascular Service Line.
- Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive strategic plan across ambulatory, acute, post-acute, and community-based care.
- Lead service line growth initiatives, program development, and innovation to improve quality and operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement in clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and cost of care.
- Partner with quality and safety leadership to ensure compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and patient safety standards.
- Advance high-reliability practices and evidence-based cardiovascular care delivery.
- Ensure effective operational oversight of cardiovascular services, including cardiac catheterization and vascular programs.
- Maintain accountability for service line financial performance, budgeting, and resource utilization.
- Collaborate with facility and system leadership to align service line goals with organizational priorities.
- Partner with cardiologists, vascular surgeons, anesthesia providers, and advanced practice providers to enhance care coordination and service delivery.
- Foster strong physician relationships and support multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop nursing and perioperative staff within cardiovascular services.
- Promote staff engagement, retention, and professional growth.
- Oversee ongoing staff education, competency validation, and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards.
- Demonstrate organizational values through inspirational leadership and a commitment to patient-centered outcomes.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or eligibility for licensure.
- 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience within Cardiovascular Services.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate effectively with physicians and anesthesia providers.
- BLS and ACLS certification (required or obtainable within a defined timeframe).
- Authorization to work without visa sponsorship.
- Experience with cardiovascular service line strategic planning.
- Demonstrated understanding of unit-level or service line financial performance.
- Proven success in recruiting, retaining, and engaging clinical teams.
- Experience driving measurable improvements in outcomes, cost of care, and patient satisfaction.
