Key Responsibilities:
Program Management:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate youth sports programs for all skill levels.
- Ensure program standards and safety protocols are maintained.
- Collaborate with community organizations to enhance program offerings.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers.
- Foster a positive and supportive team environment.
- Conduct regular volunteer training and development sessions.
Participant Engagement:
- Grow and retain program participants through innovative programming.
- Address participant needs and feedback promptly.
- Monitor program effectiveness and implement improvements based on participant surveys.
Financial Oversight:
- Assist in budget preparation and management.
- Monitor and manage program expenses to ensure financial targets are met.
- Report on financial performance and recommend adjustments as needed.
Marketing and Communication:
- Work with marketing to create promotional materials.
- Maintain updated information on the YMCA website and other communication channels.
- Ensure timely communication with all stakeholders.
Scheduling and Coordination:
- Assist in creating and managing a yearly sports calendar.
- Organize season schedules, including team creation, practice and game schedules, and uniform orders.
- Ensure all volunteer coaches and staff complete required child abuse prevention standards and training.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or relevant certifications preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience working or volunteering in youth or sports programs.
- Basic leadership skills with the ability to work well with others and take initiative.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
