The YMCA of Greater Birmingham focuses on strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. 

Key Responsibilities:

Program Management:

• Develop, implement, and evaluate youth sports programs for all skill levels.
• Ensure program standards and safety protocols are maintained.
• Collaborate with community organizations to enhance program offerings.

Team Leadership:

• Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers.
• Foster a positive and supportive team environment.
• Conduct regular volunteer training and development sessions.

Participant Engagement:

• Grow and retain program participants through innovative programming.
• Address participant needs and feedback promptly.
• Monitor program effectiveness and implement improvements based on participant surveys.

Financial Oversight:

• Assist in budget preparation and management.
• Monitor and manage program expenses to ensure financial targets are met.
• Report on financial performance and recommend adjustments as needed.

Marketing and Communication:

• Work with marketing to create promotional materials.
• Maintain updated information on the YMCA website and other communication channels.
• Ensure timely communication with all stakeholders.

Scheduling and Coordination:

• Assist in creating and managing a yearly sports calendar.
• Organize season schedules, including team creation, practice and game schedules, and uniform orders.
• Ensure all volunteer coaches and staff complete required child abuse prevention standards and training.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or relevant certifications preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience working or volunteering in youth or sports programs.
• Basic leadership skills with the ability to work well with others and take initiative.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with children, families, and diverse community members
