Qualifications
What You Bring
- At least 18 years of age
- Experience working with children in a developmental setting (preferred)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment
- Commitment to continuing education (STARS credits)
- CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications
- Alarm/Emergency Procedures training
As a Lead Teacher, you will:
- Create and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans (including Zoo Phonics)
- Lead and manage a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Supervise children and activities while maintaining proper ratios at all times
- Build strong relationships with families through communication and conferences
- Maintain accurate program records and licensing requirements
- Support and problem-solve staffing needs and daily challenges
- Ensure safety across all youth spaces, including transportation
- Participate in family events, staff meetings, and ongoing training
