- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five years of progressive management experience; YMCA or nonprofit leadership preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred to enhance community engagement, family relationships, and partnership development within the diverse Kansas City, Kansas community
- Proven success leading teams, coaching leaders, and developing staff talent.
- Demonstrated experience in membership, customer service, program operations, community engagement, and/or fundraising.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to analyze data, drive performance metrics, and implement strategic plans.
- Passion for the YMCA mission, community impact, equity, and inclusive leadership.
- Must have reliable transportation. Travel around the Greater Kansas City area is required.
- Lead all center operations, including membership, programs, fiscal management, facilities, philanthropy, and associate development.
- Recruit, develop, and support a diverse volunteer advisory board that advances community engagement and philanthropic goals.
- Build strategic partnerships with civic organizations, local businesses, neighborhood leaders, and elected officials.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, member-focused programs that drive engagement, retention, and community impact.
- Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure resources support strategic priorities. Foster a culture of excellence and innovation that strengthens member experience and supports association goals.
- Ensure safety, facility quality, compliance, and adherence to all YMCA policies and procedures.
- Represent the YMCA at community events, meetings, and activities to elevate visibility and strengthen partnerships.
- Travel across the region and participate in evening, weekend, and occasional after-hours activities to support operational needs.
