What are the responsibilities and job description for the Membership Representative position at YMCA of Harrison County?
Position Summary:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This person delivers excellent customer service by responding to the needs of all members, guests and program participants, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the lobby area, and providing a positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement.
Job Duties:
1. Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
2. Interviews and/or tours prospective members; sells memberships.
3. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
4. Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and to the YMCA.
Additional Expectations:
5. Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
6. Attend monthly staff meetings to communicate problems, policies, and procedures as well as correcting and addressing errors made by member services staff and highlighting successes of the department.
7. Assist in the training of new Membership Representatives.
8. Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.

1. CPR and First Aid Certification

4. Previous customer service, sales, or related experience.
