What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Administrator - RC Durr YMCA position at YMCA of Greater Cincinnati?
Key Responsibilities:
- Administers the day-to-day operation of assigned SACC or CDS site, ensuring that the programs meet all state, local, and YMCA regulations and standards; ensures compliance with the highest tier of the State’s voluntary quality rating system.
- Maintains and submits an accurate accounting of payments, statistics, records and reports in compliance with state licensing, YMCA, and program requirements.
- Ensures that all aspects of the program are developmentally appropriate and meet the individual physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of the participants.
- Trains, supervises, evaluates site staff and volunteers and assists in the hiring process as needed.
- Prepares and monitors staff schedule at all times, modifying it as necessary to maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios, as specified by the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati.
- Develops and monitors an annual training plan for all staff, ensuring that all staff receive training sufficient in content and quantity to meet program requirements and needs.
- Assists in developing the program’s annual budget; manages the program’s revenues and expenses according to the approved program budget.
- Monitors and promotes program enrollment, ensuring optimal enrollment at all times.
- Plans and implements the center’s purchasing in a responsible manner.
- Ensures that the program provide a diverse selection of materials, equipment and experiences for all enrolled children, including multicultural, non-sexist and anti-bias.
- Directs center’s health and safety practices, ensuring adherence to all state, local and YMCA standards.
- Ensures that program facilities and equipment exhibit high standards in maintenance, cleanliness, presentation, and repair.
- Promotes a team concept through a positive approach to supervision, communication, and interactions with others. Maintains on-going communication with supervisor and appropriate staff at all levels of the YMCA.
- Conducts regular staff meetings as a communication link to site staff.
- Represents the YMCA as a liaison to program parents, facility hosts, child advocacy agencies, and the community.
- Participates in the development, consistent enforcement and evaluation of center policies.
- Ensures that Association’s Child Protection policies, child abuse and neglect guidelines, and proper reporting procedures are upheld at all times.
- Plans, implements and attends appealing and meaningful programs and events for parents and/or families on a regular basis; provides an ongoing network (formal and informal) of support for program parents.
- Routinely evaluates program quality and practices implementing necessary steps to remedy weaknesses.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of YMCA mission, purpose and goals, childcare policies and YMCA standards, ensures the program meets the highest standards of excellence.
- Upholds and exemplifies the YMCA’s principles of Character Development, Customer Service, and programs which build “strong kids, strong families, and strong communities”.
- Assumes all other responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must meet all licensing requirements under the Department of Human Services of the state and local governments; and
- Must meet current criteria for center administrator as defined by the state of Ohio’s Tiered Licensing highest level or meet state of Kentucky qualifications (for sites in KY).
- Must have previous supervisory experience and possess decision-making abilities.
- Must complete and maintain current status in First Aid, Common Childhood Illnesses, Child Abuse Prevention and CPR.
- Must possess and demonstrate ability to engage in all activities associated with the daily care, activities, and routines of the program’s children, including but not limited to; interacting with children at floor level, physical education activities such as running, jumping, etc., lifting children and or equipment, and participating in outdoor activities, field trips and swimming as needed.
- Must possess oral, auditory and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults.
- Must be capable of directing the daily administrative, program related, and supervisory responsibilities of an Early Childhood Care and Education program
