We are seeking an experienced Orbital Welder to join our team. Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Orbital Welder to join our team. The Orbital Welder will be responsible for performing precision welding on piping, tubing, and components using orbital welding equipment. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and maintain orbital welding equipment to perform high-precision welding on pipes and tubing.
- Interpret and work from design plans, schematics, and work instructions to ensure accurate welds to specifications.
- Prepare and fit tubing and components for welding, ensuring proper alignment and joint preparation.
- Perform weld inspections, including visual and dimensional checks, to verify weld quality and compliance with standards (ASME, AWS, or customer-specific).
- Maintain welding records, documentation, and traceability as required by company procedures.
- Train others on orbital procedures and techniques.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, fabricators, and quality inspectors to resolve welding issues and optimize processes.
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use, equipment lockout/tagout, and safe handling of gases and materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in welding preferred.
- 2 years of orbital welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment (pharmaceutical experience a plus).
- Proficient in reading and interpreting design plans, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of welding standards (ASME BPE) strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to set up and troubleshoot orbital welding machines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated solid mechanical aptitude.
