Job Title: Equipment Engineer
Location: Fremont, CA
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Inspects the tool after assembly, making sure the tool is built properly and nothing is missing before accepting the tool from assembly area.
- Hooks up the tool, to its subassemblies, verifies main frame and all subassemblies are functioning correctly.
- A good understanding of vacuum, thermal, and Chemical Vapor Deposition systems.
- Has a good understanding of the equipment working and following properly Environmental Health & Safety guidelines.
- Support new product launches to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standards.
- Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues.
- Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of supplier quality issues.
- Has a good understanding of electrical and electronics trouble shooting down to component level.
- Work with the supplier directly, create correction action plans to address process failures.
- Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
- Has a good understanding of mechanical components, adjustment, and alignment.
- Has the ability to read schematics electrical, electronics and mechanical drawings.
- CAD, Solid work, inventor knowledge is a plus.
- Some software, PLC knowledge and understanding is a plus.
- Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process, or system.
- Undertake special projects as requested by your supervisor.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
- Support and lead process improvement activities.
- Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients.
- Achieve goals within budget
- Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends
Qualifications
- Degree required; Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience
- Substantial experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience of working in equipment engineering in Semi-conductor, Solar or LED industry.
- Experience of Final Test Area.
- Lean manufacturing skills.
- Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers.
Travel Requirements:
- Position requires 10% travel
Compensation
- The base salary range for this position is $80,000 – $100,000 per year; higher compensation may be available depending on advanced skills and/or specific experience.
