Billing & Revenue Coordinator

Yazoo River Towing, Inc. is seeking a Billing & Revenue Coordinator to support and eventually take ownership of customer billing across our inland marine transportation operations.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an operating environment where no two days look exactly the same. Experience in inland marine transportation is helpful, but not required. What matters most is strong judgment, follow-through, and the ability to learn and manage a process that sits at the intersection of operations, billing, and accounting.

This is not a simple invoice-entry position. The right person will help ensure that work performed by the company is accurately captured, properly supported, and billed timely and correctly.

• Prepare and process customer invoices for transportation, towing, charter, and related services
• Review job activity, supporting documents, and customer-specific billing requirements to ensure accurate invoicing
• Track and follow up on missing billing support, rebill items, and customer-specific charges
• Maintain organized billing files and documentation for each job or voyage
• Work closely with operations, dispatch, and accounting to resolve billing questions and discrepancies
• Help identify and document customer billing rules, pricing terms, and recurring exceptions
• Assist with billing-related reporting, exception tracking, and process improvement
• Support ongoing efforts to improve billing accuracy, timeliness, and internal documentation
  

• Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple items at once without losing track of deadlines or missing information
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort working with operations personnel, accounting staff, and management
• Ability to identify inconsistencies, ask the right questions, and follow issues through to resolution
• Solid Excel and general computer skills
• Reliable judgment and a strong sense of ownership
  

• Experience in billing, revenue coordination, transportation, logistics, marine, or similar operational environments
• Experience working with customer contracts, rate sheets, supporting documentation, or rebill/pass-through items
• Familiarity with accounting systems, invoice support, or operational file management
  

• Invoices go out timely and accurately
• Billing support is complete and organized
• Missing items and exceptions are identified quickly
• Customer-specific billing requirements are followed consistently
• Revenue leakage from missed charges, rebills, or poor documentation is reduced
  

Billing is one of the most important control points in our business. This role helps connect the work performed in the field with the revenue collected by the company. The person in this position will play a meaningful role in improving process reliability, billing accuracy, and internal accountability.

This is an on-site position in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Because this role works closely with operations and internal staff, regular in-person presence is important.
