Job Summary
Our ideal candidate will possess a strong elementary multi-subject knowledge base and passion for teaching students, preferably impacted students with learning differences, and be able to support our instructional program to promote students' active inquiry, discovery, and learning; adapt materials and methods to meet students' varying readiness, interests, and learning profiles; and partner with colleagues and parents to promote each student's motivation, work habits, and growth mindset. Responsibilities: *Hours 7:30am-4:45pm (M-TH), 7:30am-1:45pm (F) *Provide active and connected supervision and academic assistance to elementary and middle school General Studies classes to separate boys and girls groups with diverse learning profiles; *Assist with helping students utilize technology within the curriculum; *Assist the lead teacher in using a variety of assessment practices to monitor, guide, and support student learning and to adjust teaching to meet student needs; *Foster a classroom community founded on trust, respect, consideration for self and others, inclusiveness, curiosity, growth mindsets, and joy; *Promote in students self-awareness, self-regulation, self-advocacy, moral sensitivity, integrity, and mutual responsibility; *Work closely with the General Studies Principal and General Studies faculty team to cultivate an invigorating, safe, and respectful atmosphere across all grades; *Provide a positive environment that encourages students to actively participate in their own learning; *Communicate on a regular basis with the General Studies Principal and teachers to discuss the curriculum scope and sequence and corresponding pacing guide; *Communicate on a regular basis with the General Studies Principal and Student Support Services to discuss student progress.
