Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service to enhance their café experience
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate retail sales transactions and cash handling
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, food items, and snacks following food safety standards and food preparation guidelines
- Manage cash register operations, including cash handling, basic math calculations, and balancing cash drawers at shift end
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, ensuring compliance with food safety and food handling protocols
- Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness
- Support team members in serving customers efficiently during busy periods while demonstrating excellent time management skills
Skills
- Proven experience as a barista or in food service roles within a café or retail environment
- Strong cashiering skills with familiarity using POS systems like Aloha POS and Micros POS
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Knowledge of retail sales transactions, cash handling procedures, and retail math principles
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for cash register operations and transaction accuracy
- Food safety certification or knowledge of proper food handling practices is preferred
- Previous experience in the food industry or café environment is highly desirable
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during shifts
