We are looking for a skilled Controller in Tampa, FL. for a commercial real estate company (with in-house property management company). The Controller will oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data across operations. Compensation:
75k-105k annual salary
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Expert knowledge of Rent Manager and Quickbooks required.— including GL, AR/AP, Fixed Assets, and Financial Reporting.
- Lead role in preparation of annual budgets that align with Business Plan objectives.
- Support leadership with financial modeling, profitability analysis, and cost-control initiatives.
- Establish, document, and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including sales tax quarterly tax payments, property tax and payroll filings.
- Oversee inventory valuation and standard cost accuracy within the ERP system.
- Cash Management & Treasury
- Monitor daily cash position, banking relationships, and credit facilities.
- Ensure timely receipt of deposits from customer payment sources (ie credit card processing banks, customer financed transactions, etc)
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA/MBA strongly preferred).
5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Experience with complex real estate transactions preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
Salary : $75,000 - $105,000
