What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Controller position at RELIABLE ENERGY PARTNERS?
Reliable Energy Partners, a private equity-backed company, is seeking a Corporate Controller. This is a newly created role with high visibility and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
The Corporate Controller will oversee the financial systems, drive accurate reporting, and assist in building out the accounting team during a hyper-growth period. This is a hands-on role in a start-up environment with multiple acquisitions forecasted in the upcoming future. This is an opportunity to get in at ground level and help build a strong company.
Key Responsibilities:
· Direct all aspects of general ledger, payables, receivables, assets, and banking
· Lead month-end close cycle, ensuring reconciliations and financial accuracy
· Design effective close schedules, review procedures, and maintain audit-ready accounts
· Oversee external audit process and assist outside CPA firm with corporate tax requests
· Oversee controls of journal entries, accruals, inventory management, and purchasing
· Ensure adherence to GAAP and private-equity standards through policy refinement
· File sales and use tax returns
· Drive major ERP system implementations and technology integrations, supporting the transition between multiple platforms and championing automation in AP and financial close activities
· Focus on operational efficiency, cost savings, and business growth
· Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws
· Assist with hiring, mentoring and developing the accounting staff as the business scales upwards
Qualifications:
· Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required
· Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience preferably in a fast-paced, growth environment
· Background in private equity or fast-moving, results-driven settings is advantageous
· Expertise in GAAP, inventory control, and entity consolidation
· Skilled in ERP systems and new ERP systems implementations
· Demonstrated leadership in challenging environments, with a track record of driving operational efficiency
