GENERAL PURPOSE AND POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance. This role plays a critical part in supporting the financial health and strategic decision-making of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Oversee all accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll, and Tax
· Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
· Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes
· Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies
· Develop and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets
· Coordinate and support external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting
· Lead the month-end and year-end close processes
· Implement and improve financial systems and procedures
· Supervise and mentor accounting staff
· Work closely with senior management to provide financial insights and recommendations
· Assist in strategic planning, financial modeling, and risk management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
· Experience with ERP/accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle)
· Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
· Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
· Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
· Ability to ensure that finance staff adhere to internal schedules for account receivable/payable procedures
· High integrity and strong attention to detail
TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred)
· CPA designation strongly preferred
· 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory/managerial roles

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background checks, and sexual predator screening.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Ability to stand for protracted periods on an infrequent to minimal basis.
· Ability to walk moderate distances on an infrequent to minimal basis.
· Ability to sit for prolonged periods daily.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Minimal exposure to non-weather conditions, as in a business office environment. Exposure to moderate noise, such as a business office with computers and printers, and light traffic. Minimal exposure to very loud noise from crowds, as during public engagement and civic events.
