This job is to do advanced work on repairs and maintenance for County buildings and property. You may work with a supervisor or lead a small team when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with a crew supervisor to do the following tasks:
- Build forms for concrete projects
- Pour and finish concrete (like sidewalks, curbs, and catch basins)
- Remove and replace drainage pipes
- Move materials from one place to another
- Use a system to manage assets
- Safely use power tools (like a jackhammer or saw)
- Use hand tools (like rakes, shovels, and hammers)
- Lay sod (grass)
- Manage traffic while working (MOT)
- Operate equipment (like a skid steer or mini excavator)
- Other tasks as needed
- High School diploma or GED and at least two years of general maintenance, construction, equipment operation, manual labor, or closely related work experience.
- A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
This position requires hard work and teamwork, and it’s a great opportunity for someone interested in construction and maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of construction and handling materials.
- Know how to use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely.
- Able to do physical work in different weather and outdoor conditions.
- Good communication skills with your team and supervisors.
- Able to solve problems and fix equipment or material issues.
- It’s good if you have experience with heavy machinery and construction tasks.
