Duties and Responsibilities
As a Library Associate, you’ll support daily library operations and help create a welcoming experience for all patrons. You’ll provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, community-focused environment. Associates are assigned to a specific service area within the library, with duties tailored to that role.

Location Flexibility: Employees may be reassigned temporarily or permanently to other locations in the system based on operational needs

Emergency Response/Recovery Activities

- Plan and deliver programs for children and teens, including those promoting children’s literature
- Assist with engaging library displays
- Assist in developing and maintaining the branch’s collection of materials
- Provide friendly, informed service to patrons of all backgrounds
- Assist with reference and readers’ advisory using both print and digital resources
- Promote library services through outreach to schools and youth organizations
- Prepare reports and statistical data
- Support patrons with internet and electronic resource use
- Operate equipment such as computers, self-check machines, photocopiers, and cash registers
- May train and coordinate library volunteers
- Address basic facility issues and work with staff on solutions
Spanish language skills are a plus.
Education, Experience, Licensing
Minimum Qualifications
- A combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree or two years of college coursework
- Two years of customer service or closely related experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- One year of experience in a library setting
- A valid Florida Driver’s License
