Job Summary
The Clinical Applications Analyst – Inpatient Willow functions under the direction of the Application Manager and plays a key role in the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the Epic Willow Inpatient module. This position provides intermediate system-level support for clinical pharmacy applications across inpatient settings, including application build, workflow analysis, upgrades, troubleshooting, and integration with Epic and third-party systems. The analyst works closely with pharmacists, nurses, and IT teams to ensure medication-use workflows are safe, efficient, and aligned with best practices in pharmacy informatics and Epic software. Demonstrates solid systems analysis and project management skills and actively contributes to planning and implementation efforts that support clinical operations. Promotes strong communication, customer service, and collaboration to advance system performance and user satisfaction across departments.

Key Responsibilities
- Epic Willow Inpatient Support: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the Epic Willow Inpatient application to support safe and efficient medication-use workflows in inpatient clinical settings.
- System Build & Optimization: Perform application build tasks, including order sets, medication dictionaries, workflows, and decision support tools; recommend optimizations based on clinical needs and user feedback.
- Workflow & Systems Analysis: Collaborate with pharmacy and nursing teams to analyze current-state workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and implement system enhancements that align with best practices and regulatory standards.
- Upgrade & Release Management: Participate in Epic upgrade cycles and change management activities, including testing, documentation, and implementation of new features or fixes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between pharmacy, clinical departments, and IT to ensure system configuration meets clinical and operational needs.
- Training & End-User Support: Provide education, documentation, and second-level support for end users; respond to service requests and ensure timely resolution of system issues.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Maintain documentation in alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements; support data integrity, patient safety, and application compliance across all use cases.
- Project Participation: Support project planning, milestones, testing, and go-lives for system implementations or optimizations involving the Willow Inpatient module and integrated technologies.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare IT, pharmacy informatics, or Epic clinical systems, with direct support of inpatient pharmacy workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Epic Willow Inpatient, including application build, support, testing, and integration with medication dispensing technologies and other Epic modules.
- Strong understanding of clinical operations and pharmacy practice standards within an acute care setting.
- Demonstrated success in analyzing workflows, resolving complex issues, and supporting change management across interdisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to collaborate with clinical and technical teams to deliver application enhancements that improve efficiency, safety, and user satisfaction.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and customer service skills; able to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with project planning, milestone tracking, and support of Epic upgrades and release cycles.
- Bachelors Information Technology or Bachelors Other, preferred
- REQUIRED Active Epic Willow Inpatient Certification.
- Up to 20% (this includes ‘go-live’ implementations)
