Position Overview

Xtek Partners is seeking a skilled and motivated AV Installation Technician to join our growing technology services team. This role is responsible for installing, supporting, and commissioning commercial audiovisual systems in education, municipal, corporate, and public-sector environments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working on job sites with varying schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Install commercial AV systems including:
• Displays, projectors, and video walls
• Audio systems (speakers, amplifiers, DSPs, microphones)
• Conferencing and collaboration systems
• Control systems and associated cabling
• Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling (Category cable, fiber, speaker wire)
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and scope documents
• Rack build-out and equipment mounting
• Assist with system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional job site
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and company standards

Preferred Qualifications

• CTS or CTS-I certification preferred
• 2 years of commercial AV installation experience (or equivalent technical background)
• Familiarity with AV manufacturers and platforms (displays, DSPs, conferencing systems, control systems)
• Basic understanding of networking concepts related to AV systems
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment safely
• Strong organizational and time-management skills

Work Schedule & Travel

• Flexible scheduling required
• Projects may require 1st or 2nd shift work depending on site requirements
• Approximately 25% travel
• Some out-of-town and overnight stays required

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or lifts as required
• Must pass a background check
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
