Position Overview
XNRGY is seeking an experienced Jira Administrator to manage, configure, and optimize our Atlassian Jira environment. This will ensure Jira effectively supports project management, software development, and business processes across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, process-oriented thinking, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to translate business requirements into efficient, scalable Jira solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Jira and related Atlassian products (Confluence, Jira Service Management, etc.).
- Manage user accounts, roles, permissions, and security schemes.
- Ensure system uptime, performance, and integration with other enterprise tools.
- Design and implement Jira workflows, custom fields, dashboards, filters, boards, and reporting tools.
- Configure Jira projects to support Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and broader business needs.
- Collaborate with project managers, product owners, and technical teams to define and optimize Jira usage.
- Provide best practices and governance for consistent project and issue management across teams.
- Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and onboarding guides for Jira users.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Jira-related issues, troubleshooting application and workflow problems.
- Partner with Atlassian support and third-party vendors as required.
- Maintain system security, compliance, and data integrity.
- Create reports and dashboards to provide leadership with visibility into projects, progress, and KPIs.
- Establish Jira standards and ensure adherence across all departments.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of hands-on Jira administration experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of Jira governance standards, workflows, permissions, and notifications.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and project management methodologies.
- Experience with Jira REST APIs and scripting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business needs into Jira solutions.
- Experience in ITSM/ITIL processes using Jira Service Management.
Preferred
- Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator or similar certification.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrations (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub).
