What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solidworks / CAD Specialist position at Xico Lighting?
Location: Woburn, MA (On-site)
Role Type: Full-Time
- Develop and maintain SolidWorks 3D models, assemblies, and part files.
- Produce high-quality technical product drawings, shop drawings, and fabrication details.
- Create installation diagrams, wiring schematics, and layout drawings.
- Support prototype iteration, design intent, and manufacturability.
- Assist with BOM creation and drawing release processes.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, and customer support functions.
- Maintain drawing standards, templates, and part libraries.
- Support specification packages and customer submittals.
- Provide accurate drawing updates throughout product lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- 3 years CAD experience in product design/manufacturing.
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks (surfacing, assemblies, drafting).
- Strong understanding of mechanical design and fabrication.
- Experience with sheet metal, machined parts, and extrusions preferred.
- Ability to read and generate engineering documentation.
- Familiarity with architectural lighting or building systems a plus.
- Clear communicator, strong collaborator, highly organized.
