Senior Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement PLC, HMI, SCADA, and motion control programs for new and existing equipment.
• Troubleshoot automation issues on the plant floor to minimize downtime.
• Support installation, startup, and commissioning of automated systems and machinery.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and documentation.
• Perform system upgrades, hardware changes, and software modifications as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, operations, and external integrators to deliver automation solutions.
• Lead or support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure controls systems comply with safety standards (NFPA 70E, NEC, OSHA, etc.).
• Optimize equipment performance through process improvements and automation enhancements.
• Train maintenance and production personnel on new systems and controls changes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2–7 years of experience with industrial automation and controls.
• Proficiency with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred; Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron a plus).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA development (FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Wonderware, etc.).
• Strong understanding of industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profinet).
• Ability to read and create electrical schematics (AutoCAD/Eplan experience preferred).
• Familiarity with VFDs, servos, robotics, sensors, and instrumentation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automotive, plastics, metals, packaging, or high-volume manufacturing.
• Knowledge of vision systems (Cognex, Keyence).
• Experience with MES integration or data collection systems.
• Project management or system integration experience.
