Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a growing engineering team focused on the design and development of medium-voltage power generation and distribution products.

This position is ideal for an engineer with strong experience across medium-voltage systems up to the 35kV class, who understands how electrical equipment is designed, integrated, and packaged into complete power solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and development of medium-voltage power products and systems, including equipment in the 35kV class range.
• Design and integrate equipment such as MV switchgear, MCCs, generators, transformers, breakers, protection systems, and associated distribution equipment.
• Develop electrical single-line diagrams, schematics, equipment specifications, layouts, and technical documentation.
• Perform equipment sizing, system calculations, and technical evaluations for power generation and distribution applications.
• Support the integration of generators and generation equipment with MV distribution systems.
• Work closely with mechanical, controls, manufacturing, and project engineering teams to develop complete packaged power solutions.
• Provide technical guidance during manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Review vendor equipment and ensure designs meet applicable IEEE, NEC, NFPA, UL, and industry standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong professional experience in power generation, power distribution, or electrical power equipment.
• Hands-on design experience with medium-voltage systems, ideally including equipment rated up to the 35kV class.
• Strong knowledge of MV switchgear, MCCs, generators, transformers, breakers, and protection equipment.
• Experience designing or developing electrical products, packaged power systems, or engineered equipment.
• Ability to read and develop single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Understanding of electrical protection, grounding, short-circuit requirements, and equipment coordination.
• Experience supporting equipment through design, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

• Generator or generator packaging experience.
• Medium-voltage switchgear or power distribution product development.
• Experience working for an OEM, equipment manufacturer, power generation company, or electrical systems integrator.
• Experience taking electrical products from initial design through manufacturing and field deployment.
• Familiarity with protection relays, controls, and generator synchronization systems.
• PE license or EIT certification is beneficial but not required.
