Key Responsibiliti

Serve as the primary technical contact for customers throughout the product certification proc - ess.Interpret national and international product safety standards and apply their requirements to products under evaluat
- ion.Review electrical schematics, bills of materials and product construction to determine compliance with applicable standa
- rds.Develop test plans and perform electrical, environmental and mechanical testing in accordance with established procedu
- res.Create and implement test methods, accurately record results and prepare detailed engineering repo
- rts.Prepare certification reports and supporting technical documentat
- ion.Review project files and reports prepared by other engine
- ers.Manage multiple certification projects while meeting customer deadli
- nes.Ensure laboratory equipment is properly calibrated and maintai
- ned.Work closely with laboratory technicians, project engineers and laboratory management to ensure successful project deliv
- ery.Support customers by providing technical guidance throughout the certification proc
ess.
Required Qualificati
- ons:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering disci - pline.Minimum of 2 years of experience in Product Safety Engine
- ering.Minimum of 2 years of experience evaluating hazardous location (HazLoc) equi
- pment.Experience working with hazardous location certification standards such as UL 1203, UL 913, UL/IEC 60079, ANSI/ISA 60079, CSA C22.2, FM 3600/3610/3611, or equivalent ATEX and IECEx requirements is highly desi
- rable.Experience interpreting electrical schematics, engineering drawings and technical document
- ation.Strong technical writing and report preparation s
- kills.Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication s
- kills.Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high levels of quality and customer se
rvice.
Preferred Expe
- rience:
Experience working within a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL), Certification Body or accredited testing lab - oratory.Knowledge of explosion protection concepts including Intrinsic Safety (IS), Explosion Proof (Ex d), Increased Safety (Ex e) and other protection
- methods.Experience testing industrial automation, process control, instrumentation, control panels or other industrial electrical eq
- uipment.Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is considered a
n asset.
