Civil & Structural Engineer

Position Overview
An established engineering and project services organization is seeking a Civil & Structural Engineer to support the design and execution of industrial infrastructure and facilities projects. This role is responsible for performing civil and structural engineering analyses, developing design calculations and technical documentation, coordinating with designers and drafters, and supporting projects from concept through construction.
The position may also involve site visits, field investigations, construction support, specification development, and client-facing project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual designs, feasibility studies, cost estimates, project layouts, engineering calculations, specifications, and construction documentation.
- Design civil and structural systems required for industrial and energy-related projects.
- Perform structural steel design for industrial facilities, process structures, equipment platforms, pipe racks, cable tray supports, loading facilities, and other structural systems.
- Perform reinforced concrete design for foundations, containment structures, retaining walls, plant buildings, and other industrial applications.
- Prepare and review engineering calculation packages, technical reports, drawings, and material requisitions.
- Coordinate engineering deliverables with multidisciplinary project teams, designers, and drafting personnel.
- Support construction activities through drawing reviews, field inspections, and technical issue resolution.
- Interpret and apply applicable engineering codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Participate in client meetings, project planning activities, proposal preparation, and engineering estimates.
Technical Requirements
- Experience with structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro, RISA, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of 3D coordination and model review platforms such as Navisworks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of engineering codes and standards including:
- International Building Code (IBC)
- ASCE 7
- ACI
- AISC
- OSHA
- ASTM
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Experience supporting industrial, energy, manufacturing, petrochemical, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
