Job Description
Join a leading Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) organization as the EMC & Wireless Laboratory Manager for a state-of-the-art EMC and Wireless testing facility in Maryland. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, supporting business growth, developing technical teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of testing services to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a positive, collaborative laboratory culture focused on employee engagement, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with business development and sales teams to support customer growth and strengthen client relationships.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
- Lead laboratory operations to deliver high-quality testing services, achieve performance goals, and meet customer deadlines.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to establish strategic objectives, maintain accreditations, and support business growth initiatives.
- Contribute to financial performance through effective resource planning, budgeting, and operational efficiency.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop technical staff while maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Oversee laboratory equipment, capital expenditures, and operational resources.
- Ensure adherence to quality systems, safety requirements, ethical standards, and operating procedures.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline) with 6 years of experience in EMC testing, product compliance, manufacturing, or R&D; or
- Master's degree in a related field with 4 years of relevant experience; or
- High school diploma/GED with 10 years of directly related industry experience.
Required Qualifications
- Leadership experience within a laboratory, testing, compliance, or engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of EMC testing and regulatory standards, including FCC, ANSI, EN, ETSI, MIL-STD, and/or RTCA requirements.
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, military, or highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with workplace safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced technical environment.
- Experience with budgeting, financial oversight, and operational planning is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Salary : $90,000 - $150,000
