- Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and AS400 for inventory control and procurement activities.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost-effective purchasing solutions.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage materials management to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Implement best practices in supply chain management to optimize logistics and production planning.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance metrics.
- Support e-commerce initiatives by sourcing products that align with merchandising strategies.
Experience
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles within a manufacturing or retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of materials management, MRP processes, and inventory control techniques.
- Familiarity with supply chain logistics and production planning methodologies.
- Proficient in using ERP systems such as SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400 for procurement functions.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
- Ability to analyze data related to pricing, sourcing strategies, and supplier performance.
