What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telephone Operator position at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center-WHN?
Position Summary Responsible for the prompt and courteous response to all incoming call signals, including emergency signals, and paging system.
Job Duties:
- Answers incoming call signals promptly and courteously, in the order in which they are received.
- Must give progress reports, when caller is waiting on the line (every 0 to 40 seconds).
- Responds to Code calls (Cod Blue, Emergency, etc.).
- Responds and follows up on any inter-hospital calls.
- Responds and transmits all overhead and beeper paging.
- Maintains all records pertaining to the Telephone Operator work assignments (Patient Telephones, Emergency Calls, Long Distance Calls, Code Blue, etc.)
- Performs all other duties as required.
Formal Education Desired (not required) criteria include: This position requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year job-related experience.
Minimum one year experience with telephone company or hospital experience.
Fridays from 8am-4PM.
Hourly rate $27.2835
