Job Description: Business Development Manager
Location: Gig Harbor, WA 98332
Position Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time, Onsite
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour, DOE
Requirements: Must pass background check and maintain a clean DMV record. Candidate must have their own vehicle and proof of insurance, as in-person client visits and door-to-door sales are required within assigned territory. Mileage reimbursement
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth and client acquisition for a security staffing company based in Gig Harbor, WA 98332. This role will focus on expanding our client base throughout the Olympia–Tacoma areas, promoting a wide range of security services including property security, event security, and private protection for special guests during travel and venues.
The ideal candidate is proactive, professional, and confident in generating new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and direct outreach. This position requires someone who is comfortable working independently in the field while maintaining a strong presence at the Gig Harbor office each day.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cold calls to prospective clients and organizations to promote security staffing services.
- Generate new business opportunities through door-to-door sales, networking events, and in-person meetings.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients in the Olympia–Tacoma territory.
- Meet or exceed sales targets by effectively promoting services such as property security and private protection for special guests.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and contracts to prospective clients.
- Collaborate with internal operations and account management teams to ensure client satisfaction and service delivery.
- Track and report on sales activities, pipeline development, and market trends.
- Represent the company professionally and uphold its values while engaging with clients and the community.
- Begin and end each workday at the Gig Harbor office.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, outside sales, or a related role (security industry experience is a plus).
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean DMV record, and reliable personal vehicle with insurance.
- Comfortable with cold calling, door-to-door sales, and face-to-face client interactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to pass a background check.
