What You Will Do As a Technical Design Associate

The Associate Technical Designer will be responsible for assisting the design team with creating and maintaining tech packs, fit and sample approvals, product quality and organizing samples

How You Will Make a Difference

Techpack and Final Product Approval:

• Partner with lead designers to sketch innovative and creative new design silhouettes for development.
• Create, maintain and update tech packs including technical construction illustrations, grade rules and sewing construction details.
• Utilize PLM or Excel to create tech packs.
• Assist with fit sessions and communicate construction and revisions to overseas offices, factories and clients.
• Collaborate with design to ensure fabrications, trims, labeling and packaging are appropriate for specified designs.
• Address and assist with resolution of quality assurance issues.
• Assist with selection and creation of Bill of Materials.
  
  

Fit Sample Evaluation And Fit Process

• Measure and prepare proto samples for fit session.
• Maintain fit sample status and archive samples as required.
• Establish quality standards for all designs.
  
  

Design And Development – Coordinate W/ Design Team

• Keep current on market trends and innovations in fabric technology, styling and construction methods to ensure program is aligned with set market objectives.
• Monitor wear test and provide insight as to how results may affect product specifications and future line development.
• Responsible for following timelines and target dates.
• Assist with sample requests and follow up on sample status.
• Address inspection reports and QC issues with factories.
  
  

Skills For Success

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suites (Illustrator), Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word) and PLM.
• Understanding of garment construction, measurement specifications and grading.
• Knowledge of flat pattern or CAD pattern making.
• A trained eye for proportion and balance as well as aesthetic detail.
• Ability to prioritize activities and multi-task within a fast-paced office environment.
• Proactive in problem solving and resolution oriented.
• Ability to work in a cross functional team environment.
• Ability to show initiative, self-manage and work independently.
• Effective email communication
