Worksource Oregon is partnering with an employer who, for the last 60 years, has been dedicated to preventing homelessness by partnering with people on their journey to stability and opportunity. They are currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Recovery Services Specialist.


JOB DUTIES

- Assist individuals & families in accessing alcohol/drug treatment & recovery services to help clients secure and/or maintain housing while actively engaging in recovery through intensive peer mentoring and skill building support

- Direct case management and peer support to clients enrolled in the Recovery Navigation Program, as well as process client requests for assistance through the Client Emergency Basic Needs (CEBN) Program in Multnomah County

- Conduct screening, intake, and referral of internal/external requests for service

- Work closely with CEBN providers to ensure proper utilization of funds, deliver training, and process requests effectively

- Provide progressive, person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based engagement and assessment, utilizing peer support and mentoring techniques to promote sustained recovery and encourage the development of strong, community-based support systems

- Coordinate service providers (e.g., healthcare, mental health, addictions, employment, and social services) to ensure support

- Provide education regarding public benefits (WIC, Medicaid, TANF, SNAP, veteran-specific benefits, SSD, SSI, Medicare, etc.)

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources related to housing, mental health, addiction recovery, disability services, and income support

- Maintain compliance with program policies, departmental tools, agency procedures, and funder requirements

- Ensure and document participant progress, services offered, and required documentation for enrollment, service provision, and program exits is completed within established timelines


REQUIREMENTS

- High School/GED

- Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) certification level-I/II or III

- Minimum of 1-3 years of case management experience in human services, preferably in social work, recovery or related field or lived experience

- 6 months experience working with individuals who identify as having mental health conditions, substance use disorders, disabilities, or other long-term barriers to stability

- Learn program compliance standards & maintaining accurate, timely documentation

- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, & oral/written communication skills

- Sensitivity & relate to individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds, & lived experiences

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace programs

- Travel efficiently in urban/rural areas and multiple counties

- Personal transportation & valid driver's license with acceptable driving history

- Employer will perform a background check


PREFERENCES

- Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) or Peer Support Specialist (PSS) cert.

- Prior experience working with individuals & families experiencing poverty/homelessness

- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field

- Bilingual (any language)
