JOB SUMMARY

This role supports some of The Dalles' most beloved traditions, from parades and festivals to business networking events, and plays a key part in bringing people together. You'll assist with planning, coordinating, and executing our organization and community events
The ideal candidate is highly organized and adaptable, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, public-facing environment, while communicating clearly and professionally with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
REQUIREMENTS
*High school diploma or equivalent.
*Must lift and carry up to 30lbs.
*Valid driver's license to drive from office to events.
*Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
PREFERENCES
*Familiar with nonprofit, chamber, tourism, or community organizations.
*Background in event planning and coordination, including volunteer management, showcasing expertise in organizing complex projects, meeting deadlines, and driving successful event execution through teamwork and initiative.
JOB DUTIES
*Creating event timelines, run-of-show plans, and detailed task lists.
*Coordinating logistics such as permits, street closures, equipment, rentals, signage, and supplies.
*Collaborating with city departments, public safety, vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and staff.
*Feet on the ground for event set-up, tear-down, site coordination.
*Supporting sponsor recognition and event deliverables.
*Solving problems calmly and creatively as they arise.
*Recruit, schedule, and communicate with volunteers.
*Provide clear instructions and friendly on-site direction.
*Serve as a key point of contact during events.
*Maintain event documentation and post-event notes.
*Assist with reporting and follow-up with the CEO and partners.
PAY
*$19 - $22 per hour; Depending on Experience
HOURS
*Monday - Friday, 30 Hours per week.
*Some early mornings, evenings and weekends required.
LOCATION
*The Dalles, Oregon; on-site required.
*Includes occasional traveling between the office and event sites
