Bilingual (Spanish) Parent Education Technician

Required:
* 3 years related work history
* Bilingual (English/Spanish)
* Valid Driver's license, access to reliable transportation with proof of current auto insurance
* Pre-employment background check
* High School Diploma/GED (Postsecondary education preferred)
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

Summary:
This position supports the organizational mission by providing bilingual education to at-risk TANF and SNAP families by connecting families to resources, creating a supportive environment that honors and celebrates cultural differences and through a variety of parenting and skill building classes which prevent child abuse. This position is required to provide services in both Klamath and Lake Counties.

Duties Include:
* Increase parental protective factors such as nurturing and attachment parental resilience, parental social connections, and positive concrete supports to help a family remain healthy and safe
* Decrease the risk of safety threats associated with child abuse and child maltreatment
* Conduct a family development survey with the participant to determine family strengths, barriers and/or other benefits or resources that could assist the family as they work towards self-sufficiency
* Conduct individual face-to-face case management appointments with families
* Connect Spanish speaking families with programs and resources
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships
* Advocate for and empower individuals and their families by teaching Parenting and Life Skills individually via mentoring or in a group setting
* Develop and adjust curricula to provide classes, trainings and workshops
* Adjust training materials as necessary to increase attendee understanding of concepts and to support practical implementation
* Teach classes and workshops in Lakeview and/or other communities
* Translate for applicants, community members and/or program participants in office
* Communicate effectively in English and Spanish, both orally and in writing, with individuals and groups using tact, patience, empathy and respect
* Stay up to date on changes in the Family Support and Connections Increase parental protective factors
* Help with outreach events
* Answer phones, call back voicemails, distribute faxes and emails
* Accurate review of applications forms
* Schedule appointments for team members
* Maintain confidentiality
* Consistently provide high level customer service which is trauma informed and applicant centric
* Attend team meetings/events/trainings
