Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk / Material Handler (Inventory & Order Fulfillment)
Pay Rate: $18–$20/hr (based on experience)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk / Material Handler to support daily warehouse operations, including inventory control, order picking, and order fulfillment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring efficient material handling, and supporting production through timely and accurate movement of materials and components. The ideal candidate has hands-on shipping and receiving, warehouse experience, forklift operation skills, and a strong understanding of inventory management and logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform order picking and order fulfillment by pulling customer sales orders, manufacturing work orders, and engineering work orders from various warehouse locations.
- Maintain accurate inventory control by recording material usage and completing transactions using RF Smart, RF scanners, and warehouse management systems.
- Execute daily material handling tasks including shipping and receiving, storing, sorting, staging, and distributing materials throughout the warehouse and production floor.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers to move and store inventory safely and efficiently.
- Use RF scanners and warehouse systems to verify inventory, label materials, and ensure accuracy in all inventory management processes.
- Perform shipping and receiving duties including unloading incoming shipments, inspecting materials, verifying quantities, labeling, and stocking items in proper locations.
- Prepare and process outbound shipments, including small parcel and LTL, ensuring compliance with all shipping and receiving procedures and documentation requirements.
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventory, and discrepancy resolution.
- Coordinate with production, purchasing, shipping, and customer service teams to ensure materials are available for order fulfillment and production needs.
- Identify and communicate inventory shortages, discrepancies, or delays that impact warehouse operations and shipping and receiving timelines.
- Organize and maintain warehouse storage areas to support efficient inventory control and accessibility of materials.
- Assist with training new employees on shipping and receiving, warehouse procedures, material handling, and inventory systems.
- Troubleshoot issues related to inventory, order discrepancies, or material flow within the warehouse.
- Ensure compliance with all warehouse safety guidelines, including proper PPE usage and safe forklift operation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, material handling, or inventory control
- Experience with RF scanners and warehouse management systems preferred
- Proven experience operating forklifts (sit-down, reach truck, order picker)
- Strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes, inventory management, and order fulfillment
- Basic math and computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on inventory accuracy
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Problem-solving abilities and strong organizational skills
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 35 lbs independently and more with assistance
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb for extended periods during warehouse operations
- Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Must be able to wear required PPE (safety shoes, gloves, eye and hearing protection)
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to support shipping and receiving and production demands
