Position: Human Resources Generalist
Location: Parsippany, NJ
Position Type: Exempt (Direct Hire)
Salary: $65k-68k
Hours: 9-5pm (hybrid remote/onsite)
Our client owns and operates power plants within the US. The HR Generalist role will support onboarding, benefits, payroll and standard HR functions for multiple power plants. Great opportunity for a strong payroll and benefits individual with capacity to do light employee relations.
What experience we are looking for:
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience
• Open to industry, but energy or utility industry is a plus
• Experienced with administering benefits (ie. researching plan options, open enrollment, add/changes)
• Experience with ADP WFN a plus
• Strong Excel skills
• PHR Certification or higher desired
• Team player/Self-starter
What the HR Generalist is responsible for:
General Human Resources Job Duties:
• Liaison between Plant Administrators and Human Resource Department
• Maintain employee electronic and hard copy files for companies
• Answering employee questions regarding payroll and human resources matters.
• Assist with preparing open enrollment activities.
• Ad hoc HR and Payroll matters; such as new hire process, organize and prepare new hire binders, open enrollment, etc. for union companies.
Benefits Job Duties:
• Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) support
• Help set up benefit program for incoming employees; such as medical, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance, etc.
• Manage enrollment and eligibility for employees
• Maintain monthly billing files for all insurance carriers related to benefits
• Field employee questions and concerns with any benefit inquires or problems such as finding a doctor online and explaining benefits copays and covered services
Payroll Administrator Job Duties:
• End to end processing of payroll(s)
• Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
• Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title, etc.
• Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures.
• Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
