Summary: Performs a broad range of human resources functions in support of departmental operations and township objectives. This role works closely with the Director of Human Resources and provides support in key functional areas, including recruitment and onboarding, workers’ compensation, and HRIS administration. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Human Resources, with a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, and independent judgment.
Duties:
- Administers a variety of human resources programs, including employee status changes, onboarding, and personnel transactions
- Coordinates and supports full-cycle recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview scheduling
- Facilitates new employee onboarding and orientation processes
- Assists in the administration of workers’ compensation claims, ensuring timely reporting, documentation, and coordination with carriers and third-party administrators
- Maintains and updates Human Resources Information System (HRIS) records; generates reports and audits data for accuracy and compliance
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Participates in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and departmental initiatives
- Collaborates with internal departments and external vendors to ensure accurate data management across systems
- Identifies process improvement opportunities and recommends solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, communications, business administration or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of two (2) years of professional human resources experience, preferably in a generalist capacity. Experience with HRIS systems such as PrimePoint or ADP Workforce Now required. Municipal or public sector experience preferred. Professional certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) strongly preferred.
Hourly Rate: $26.21 - $41.17. Temporary part-time appointment; not to exceed twenty-eight (28) hours per week. Compensation commensurate with experience.
