What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Systems, Applications & Integrations Lead position at Workday?
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced legal technology contractor to provide continuity coverage for a critical post-go-live period following the launch of a new enterprise legal management platform. This is a high-visibility, full-time engagement in which you will serve as the primary platform administrator, business systems analyst, and frontline support resource for a dynamic in-house legal technology function. You will anchor hypercare and stabilization operations across matter management, e-billing, outside counsel onboarding, and invoice approval workflows, while simultaneously owning the change request pipeline between the legal department and Business Technology for Salesforce and Conga CLM platforms. This role demands a rare combination of deep Salesforce technical expertise, hands-on Conga CLM and Litify administration experience, and polished business analysis skills — all applied in a fast-paced, independent environment where you will translate complex legal and business needs into actionable technical requirements and drive delivery through to validation and sign-off.
Responsibilities
Serve as platform administrator for the Litify ELM platform, including user provisioning, profiles and permissions, configuration changes, and release management
Triage and resolve post-go-live issues across internal users and outside counsel, managing the support queue and escalation paths throughout the hypercare period
Support outside counsel onboarding operations, including vendor portal access, timekeeper and rate management, and adherence to outside counsel billing guidelines
Administer and refine invoice approval workflows, including routing rules, approval tiers, and the Legal Ops pre-approval gate
Maintain data quality, including matter taxonomy mappings and legacy data translation references from the prior ELM migration
Serve as the legal-side BSA owner for key initiatives within the GTM Next program, including Salesforce Case Management and Conga CLM initiatives, covering requirements definition, solution design input, UAT, and delivery coordination
Own and operate the change request mechanism between Legal and Business Technology for the Salesforce platform and Conga CLM, including intake, business analysis, prioritization, requirements documentation, and pipeline management
Elicit requirements from legal stakeholders, document user stories and acceptance criteria, and translate legal and business needs into actionable technical specifications for BT delivery teams
Coordinate release cycles, UAT, and validation for Salesforce and Conga CLM changes affecting legal workflows, and manage stakeholder sign-off
Maintain the change request backlog with clear status visibility for legal leadership and BT partners
Serve as the legal department's frontline support resource for the broader legal applications portfolio, including Evisort and adjacent tooling, handling user questions, access requests, troubleshooting, and vendor escalation
Monitor and maintain integrations between legal systems and enterprise platforms, including SSO, finance and AP feeds, document management, and e-billing data exchange
Coordinate with Business Technology on technical changes, environment management, access requests, and security reviews
Own department reporting out of the Salesforce platform, with Litify as the primary source, covering outside counsel spend, invoice cycle times, matter volumes, accruals, and system adoption
Build and maintain Salesforce reports and dashboards for Legal Ops, practice groups, and leadership, and field ad hoc reporting requests
Collaborate with the data and analytics team to surface legal data structures, validate source data, and align on definitions, feeds, and metrics for downstream analytics
Maintain system documentation, user guides, and runbooks, and update training materials as workflows evolve
Manage vendor relationships for platform support, including professional services engagement on open workstreams
Participate in a structured knowledge transfer with the incumbent at the start and end of the engagement, including coverage of Litify administration, integration runbooks, open tickets, and vendor contacts
Skills
Deep Salesforce platform expertise including administration, configuration, declarative automation via Flows, data modeling, profiles and permission sets, and release and change management
Strong business systems analyst capabilities including requirements elicitation, user story and acceptance criteria documentation, process mapping, UAT planning, and stakeholder sign-off management
Hands-on Conga CLM experience including administration, template and workflow configuration, and supporting contract lifecycle processes on the Salesforce platform
Litify administration experience or demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on a Salesforce-native ELM, including e-billing, outside counsel onboarding, and LEDES invoice workflows
Strong Salesforce reporting and dashboard skills including report types, cross-object reporting, and dashboard design for operational and executive audiences
Proven ability to interface effectively between business stakeholders such as attorneys and legal ops professionals and technical delivery teams including BT and vendors
Experience supporting system integrations including SSO, APIs, scheduled data feeds, and troubleshooting cross-system data issues
Ability to operate independently in a post-go-live and hypercare environment with minimal ramp time
Familiarity with enterprise legal management and e-billing platforms such as Litify, SimpleLegal, Onit, Legal Tracker, or Brightflag
Familiarity with legal data standards such as SALI and UTBMS/LEDES codes preferred
Exposure to AI-enabled legal tooling such as Evisort and agent-based workflows preferred
Experience working alongside enterprise IT functions in a security-conscious environment preferred
Experience
7+ years of Salesforce platform experience strongly preferred
5+ years working in legal technology or legal operations systems within an in-house legal department, law firm, or legal technology vendor
Prior experience with an ELM or CLM migration and go-live stabilization preferred
Experience running formal change management or intake processes between a business function and central IT preferred
Qualifications
Salesforce Administrator certification required
Salesforce Advanced Administrator or Business Analyst certification a plus
