What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Start/Pre-k BA Float position at Woonsocket Head Start Child Development Association?
The BA Float is responsible for supporting the mission of WHSCDA by carrying out assigned duties with professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to high-quality services. This position contributes to the overall success of the program through collaboration, adherence to regulations, and a shared responsibility for supervision and safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to:
- Carry out assigned responsibilities in alignment with organizational policies, procedures, and program goals.
- Demonstrate knowledge of all applicable licensing and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC Accreditation Standards, Rhode Island Department of Human Services (RI DHS) regulations, and other relevant state and federal requirements.
- Implement practices that promote health, safety, and well-being of children, families, and staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by funding sources, licensing entities, and agency procedures.
- Valid driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.
- Must be able to travel between centers on short notice.
- Supervision and Safety
- Supervision is everyone’s responsibility. All staff are expected to actively supervise children atall times, anticipate and prevent hazards, and take immediate action to ensure safety.
- Report safety concerns, suspected abuse or neglect, and policy violations in accordance with agency procedures.

Pay: From $24.47 per hour
