Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for the accurate handling, movement, and documentation of incoming and outgoing materials in a manufacturing environment. This role supports production operations by ensuring raw materials, components, and finished goods are received, stored, and shipped safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping Duties
- Prepare and package finished goods for shipment according to customer and company requirements.
- Verify shipping documents, packing slips, bills of lading, and labels for accuracy.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment.
- Maintain shipping records
- Ensure outbound shipments meet quality and safety standards.
- Receive incoming materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Inspect deliveries for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Match purchase orders with packing slips and receiving documentation.
- Deliver materials to designated warehouse or production areas.
- Communicate inventory or receiving issues to purchasing and production teams.
- Maintain organized warehouse and storage areas.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or overstock conditions.
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices where applicable.
- Assist with material staging for production orders.
- Follow all OSHA, plant safety, and company procedures.
- Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Use proper PPE and adhere to all safety protocols.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read shipping documents, labels, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures.
- Strong communication and time-management skills.
- Full-time ( Schedule is four 10-hour days)
- Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on production schedules.
- Starting rate is $ 20.25 per hour
