As a Project Manager with e2i (UVU’s Education 2 Impact), you’ll step into a leadership role in a real industry project. You’ll manage impact projects for local companies, entrepreneurs, and campus partners—gaining hands-on experience in team leadership, client communication, and project execution. This is a unique opportunity to strengthen your resume, grow your professional skillset, and build a portfolio of meaningful work before your graduation.
As a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the life cycle and execution of projects—from kickoff to final delivery—while developing and applying your durable skills in areas such as leadership and communication. You’ll manage a cross-disciplinary student team, consult directly with clients, and deliver actionable results through structured and purpose-driven project-based work.
Note: You must be available to attend our trainings in the Spring, and 2 full-day training session in late Summer, prior to the start of the semester.

Project Leadership & Execution
- Define project tasks for team members to execute to achieve client identified project deliverables and outcomes
- Manage teams of 4-8 students in 5–12 week projects with defined goals, deliverables, and timelines
- Apply e2i’s structured project management practices (scope, timeline, budget, sprint cycles, and task tracking)
- Adapt and communicate plans as needed to stay on track and meet client expectations
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, your team, and e2i leadership
- Facilitate regular check-ins and provide progress updates to business partners and your team
- Translate client needs into clear, actionable objectives
- Manage project scope creep and keep clients focused on agreed upon outcomes
- Lead and motivate a cross-disciplinary team of student consultants
- Assign roles, manage workloads, and maintain accountability across the team
- Foster collaboration, problem solving, and innovation within your group
- Lead weekly meetings, including team presentations of progress for project stakeholders and the client
- Manage project scope creep and keep team focused on agreed upon deliverables.
- Help your team develop insights and solutions to real-world business challenges
- Review project progress, including scope fulfillment and timeline compliance, making strategic adjustments of team member focus and collaborating with project stakeholder to make appropriate and impactful adjustments.
- Compile final deliverables/reports and lead closing presentations delivered to clients and stakeholder
- Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a history of leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills. They must be comfortable working in collaborative environments and be able to adapt to changing project needs. Experience with project management tools or methodologies is a plus.
- Academic Status: Must be a current student at Utah Valley University, ideally a sophomore or junior level student who has leadership or management experience.
- Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage and organize others to achieve an outcome and deliver the outcome as planned.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with various areas and levels of expertise/influence and with various personalities.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and balance multiple tasks and priorities.
- Team Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate others and foster a collaborative and effective environment.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop solutions proactively.
- Time Management: Effective time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver quality results.
