The UVU Policy Office is seeking a new student intern for its editorial internship.
Required Documents
- Letter of Recommendation from an instructor or employer
- One Writing Sample and One Editing Sample OR Two Writing Samples
- Class Schedule
Summary Of Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- proofreading
- editing
- policy research
- and other tasks as needed
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
- Must be a current UVU student
- Must have taken or are currently enrolled in English 2050 (advanced editing class) and/or have equivalent experience
- Have a working knowledge of how to use the Chicago Manual of Style
- Have proofreading and editing experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred
- The schedule is negotiable. Monday–Friday, 8 am-5 pm.
- Hours per week can range from 15 to 19. Additional hours may become available as special projects arise.
- The student’s class schedule will be accommodated
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Editing and proofreading skills (required for editorial interns)
- Project management
- Research and analysis
- Self-motivated and have the ability to work independently
- Able to manage time and complete projects within reasonable time frames
- Must be comfortable working with people from all levels of management at the University
- Punctual and able to maintain a consistent schedule
