Summary Of Responsibilities
- Research - Assists the Quill Project Archival Specialist in surveying the condition of records and working with libraries and state archives to obtain records that may not be digitally available or may be incomplete.
- Data Input - Assists the Quill Project Archival Specialist to flag and input metadata for the creation of primary resource collections in the Quill Project.
- Writing - Drafts descriptions for primary sources in Quill Project resource collections. Provides editing support to the Quill Project Archival Specialist for item descriptions.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
- Must have attended college for at least two semesters
- Must be able to work 10 hours each week, including 10 hours each week in person in the Center.
- Must be able to occasionally work late evenings, early mornings and weekends, as certain projects and unversity-wide CCS events require.
- Previously been associated with or volunteered with CCS or a similar center.
- Experience as a teaching assistant or research assistant.
- Exceptional research and/or writing ability.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of basic concepts of constitutional government, law, history, and theory.
- Strong editing skills, including a command of spelling, punctuation, and grammar rules.
- Typing proficiency and computer proficiency in Power Point, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
- Ability to closely read and understand complicated historical records.
- Ability to present to small and large groups.
