What are the responsibilities and job description for the CT Technologist - Full-Time position at Woman's Hospital?
Performs computerized axial tomography and other radiographic procedures as ordered by the physician, using professional judgment to recognize conditions requiring technical intervention. Coordinates patient flow and activities of CT scanner for maximum efficiency.
Required to participate in a rotational (on-call status) covering the CT department after hours, weekends and holidays. Flexibility and independent working skills needed. Performs various duties assigned according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.
Requirements:
- Education: Completion of an accredited program of Radiologic Technology.
- Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and current licensure with the Louisiana State Board of Radiologic Technology is required.
- Advanced Certification in Computerized Axial Tomography preferred.
- Work Experience: Experience in CT preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day to day operations of the CT department included, but not limited to, scanning patients, ordering supplies, daily and monthly QA of the CT scanner.
- Also responsible for ACR Accreditation and meeting annually with a radiologist and a radiation physicist to review all scanning protocols to be in compliance with ALARA.
- Greets each patient, identifies self, explains procedures. Assists with obtaining informed consent when applicable. Collects pertinent clinical history prior to the examination to aid in diagnostic evaluation. Verifies reason for exam with written order, and patient demographics and ICD-9 codes.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and appropriate inventory of supplies for the area assigned daily. Cleans equipment as needed, between each patient, to assure aseptic condition of diagnostic area.
Schedule:
- Full-Time; Evening Shift
- Monday - Friday; 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
- Rotating On-Call Requirement: 12:00 AM - 7:00 AM
- On Call schedule runs Saturday and Sunday as well as holidays
Pay Range:
- Hourly/Non-Exempt
- $27.70 - $40.00
- Evening Differential: $4.50/hour
- Night Differential: $6.25/hour
- Weekend Differential: $8.50/hour
- On-Call Rate: $6.25/hour
