EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS MANDATORY
- BA or BS
- Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority - Cisco computing environment certificates such as CCNA, CCNP, and CCIE.
- Must have a Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA)
- 8570/8140: DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level I
Equivalent certifications such as below.
- Equivalent Vendor Certifications (acceptable alternatives):
- Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) or Professional (JNCIP)
- Aruba Certified Switching Professional (ACSP)
- CompTIA Network or Security (if relevant to network operations)
WORK EXPERIENCE MANDATORY
- Experience: Five (5) years’ relevant experience and relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority. Cisco computing environment certificates such as CCNA, CCNP and CCIE. Equivalent certifications from other vendors are also acceptable.
- Thirty percent (30%) of Telecommunications Network Engineer – Seniors (Including 2 Key Personnel at time of submission) must have a Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) certification.
- Contractors are required to take applicable DLA and Host Activity site-specific safety training. Contractors are required to take OSHA compliant Aerial Lift Training prior to the use of Aerial Lifts. Contractors must have 7 years’ network operations experience. Higher Level Education or Military service can be used in lieu of 2 years’ network operations experience.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the above, experience, particularly on complex applications involving all phases of telecommunications network design, implementation, and analysis. Experience in managing the above activities. Experience in managing the evaluation and cost estimation of voice and data WAN services from telecommunications carriers, designing access and backbone networks using carrier services, or in managing the analysis and design of wireless voice or data networks (using private radio facilities or commercial services). Provides technical and administrative direction for personnel responsible for telecommunications network design, implementation, and operations tasks, including the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards and progress in accordance with schedules. Makes recommendations, if needed, for approval of major network installations. Prepares milestone status reports, and deliveries/ presentations on network progress to colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives
